These fast-sinking Covert Tungsten Chod Beads are designed for use as a weighted chopper/chod rig stop bead, setting the movement of the hooklink on the mainline or leader.
Covert Tungsten Chod Beads come on wire twigs, for ease of threading them onto your line or leader.
These beads have a soft rubbery texture providing just the right amount of grip to hold in position on the line or leader, so there is no need to use a section of 0.5mm silicone to act as a 'stop'. The Chod Bead can easily be slid to the position you want, allowing you to compensate for the nature of the lake bottom or any weeds that are present.
The tapered profile of the bore allows the bead to pass neatly over the leader's knots, so the heli-rig constructed with this bead allows the hooklink to pull off, allowing the hooklink to disengage from the setup in the event of a cut-off.
They can improve the consistent presentation in several ways. By using these as stop beads over a Chod Rig, for example, you can easily balance the end tackle so that the rig settles gently over the spot and create a better hooking opportunity using a pair placed a short distance apart (instead of the traditional running chod).
The High Bore version can also be strung on the Chod hook section itself, then pushed down over the swivel (or Kwik Lok) as a replacement for tungsten putty. A particularly useful feature if the water you are fishing contains lobsters.
Covert Tungsten Chod Beads are manufactured with the densest tungsten polymer compound available.
Tungsten Chod Beads are available in 2 different bores:
Low Bore - these have a 0.20 mm internal bore designed for use on monofilament.
High bore - these have a 0.50mm internal bore for use with skinned hooklinks, lead core leaders and lead free.
Each Chod Bead is 7mm x 4mm.
12 beads per pack (mounted on wire branches).
*Always moisten these Chod Beads with water before gently sliding them onto your chosen line or leader to maintain proper grip. If you want a slightly lower grip, move the bead up and down in the link, line or leader to open the drill hole slightly.
