With our previous bait boat, we had an integrated system with a bait spreader connected to the remote control. Ideal for creating a larger feeding area after you've dropped your hook with your bait boat.
However, we now own a Toslon X-Boat that unfortunately does not have this feature, which was quite a drawback at the water's edge. After a Google search, we came across our friends at Fishmania, who have developed a handy device called Bait Boat Pod to equip the boats with a bait spreader.
A stand-alone device that does not need to be powered. Easy to attach to the boat and quickly creates a spread of bait within a circumference of about 30 m² around your bait boat. Of course, this depends on the bait used.
The bait spreader is equipped with a winding mechanism that you activate by pressing the lever against the hatch of your bait boat. Then you wind the spreader up to 8 times fully around. When you open the feeding hatch on the right side, the bait spreader does its job. We recommend not closing the hatches remotely when the bait spreader is activated.
Since we initially had a remotely controlled bait spreader, we sometimes forget to wind this one up. Unfortunately, you will have to return your boat to wind it up and then return to your spot.
The bait spreader's hopper can distribute a variety of bait but is not designed to spread kilograms at once. The hopper can distribute particles, pellets, corn, maggots, and/or boilies. It is recommended to use as dry bait as possible. Using bait that is too wet and/or particles can leave bait behind in the hopper. The maximum capacity of the hopper is about 600 grams, depending on the bait used. For us, this is sufficient to make the feeding area a bit more attractive.
The Bait Boat Pod bait spreaders are available for different bait boats:
- Toslon X-Boat
- Carplounge RT4/RT7
- New Direction ND2
- Ridgemonkey Hunter 750
- Gowi Osprey / BaitStar Pro (should also fit the Poseidon of RC bait boats)
Additionally, it is also possible to get the bait spreader and knob in different colors. The options are green, orange, military green, black, and blue. We have a completely black spreader ourselves and only the black version in stock in the store. For other colors, you can always inquire with us.
For now, we only have the bait spreaders for Toslon and Carplounge boats in stock, but these will be expanded at a later stage.
